(1996)The Plantain and Banana Improvement Program (PBIP) of IITA has developed black Sigatoka resistant tetraploid hybrids of plantains (PITA) and cooking banana (BITA). The status of fungal tuber rots as a constraint to cassava production in the Pouma district of Cameroon

(2004)The cassava mosaic disease (CMD) is an economically important disease of the food crop cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) in Africa. Quantitative trait loci (QTLs) associated with resistance to CMD were identified using 132 F1 progeny derived from a cross between the CMD resistant accession TMSI30572 and the susceptible landrace TME117. A complex of 3 Dacini species infests 16 host plant species belonging to the family Cucurbitaceae. Evaluating sweetpotato clones for consumers in southwestern Nigeria
(2004)Sweetness, consistency, fibre content and yield are good criteria determining consumer's preference of boiled sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) roots in the south-western Nigeria.
